Rules
12 hour writting period:

- Composers are stricktly forbidden from using perviously concieved material. This includes, but is not limited to: prior compositions (either in whole or part), planned compositions (ideas previously developed), or pre-written material from any other source (arrangments are not acceptable).

- Composers may not bring anything into the composition period to help with composition except previously approved materials (orchestration books are acceptable, etc.)

- Composers may use the internet, but only to find impetus information (text, etc.), and in the case of composers who are writing for singers, text maybe found online, if desired.

- Composers may leave the writing area briefly (smoke breaks, etc.), but composers are not aloud to stop writing for more than a half-hour. For example, you cannot leave in order to go home and sleep for a few hours and come back to finish the piece. Once you leave the writing area for over more than a half hour, your composition will be deemed "finished" and performed "as is".

- Every composer that is at the drawing WILL have a piece performed. You cannot pull the piece out of the concert after the drawing. EVERYTHING WRITTEN WILL BE PERFORMED.

- Once the composition is finished, the composers are free to go home, but MUST be at the midnight concert.

- All composers, prior to noon, must have all performance materials available to the P.L. (performance liason). This includes scores, parts, and program notes (if applicable). Performers may read off score if it is appropriate. Scores need not be typeset, but they must be legable.

-If the composers wish to have a computer at their disposal, they should let the organizers know ahead of time and this will be arranged.

-Due to time, space, and setup limitations, no electronic works will be permitted (this time).

-Composers who fall asleep during the writing period will have the heads shaven by the other composers.

-any violations of the rules will result in public humiliation during the midnight concert and rejection from any future 24hc events.

12 hour rehearsal period:

- Performers should plan on having the entire day open.

-Performance ensembles may arrange their rehearsals as they please, but ALL performers must be at the briefing at noon on saturday.

-The Performance Liaison must remain informed of ensemble rehearsals. They will continually check in.

-Performance ensembles will have one rehearsal in the hall. This will be arranged during the day by the P.L.

-If the performers should decide they need a conductor, they are too contact the P.L., who will arrange for a conductor to arrive as fast as possible.

The 25th hour concert:

- following the concert will be a celebration party, location TBA.
