Instrumental Disembodiment

New Approaches to Composition and Performance Using Computer Controllers and Physical Modeling Synthesis.

Several recent compositions exploring an approach to embodiment/ disembodiment will be discussed. In this work, new compositional structures are generate from a morphological approach to the notion of instrumental "body." The practice of performing with controllers and composing for virtual and real ensembles will be examined.
